Friday         4 Sep     8:30pm *NEW*

Saturday     5 Sep     8:30pm

A gang of thieves plan a heist during a hurricane and encounter trouble when a cop tries to force everyone in the building to evacuate.

Fighting nature, greed, and the sweeping power of the past, two police officers find themselves in the eye of a dangerous storm in the action-drama FORCE OF NATURE. As a once-in-a-generation hurricane threatens Puerto Rico, a police officer (EMILE HIRSCH) trying to recover from a tragedy in New York, goes on evac duty with a new partner (STEFANIE CAYO). At an apartment complex, they arrive as a dangerous criminal called John the Baptist (DAVIDZAYAS) begins blasting bodies to get to a trove of priceless art. But when a cranky ex-cop (Oscar winner MEL GIBSON) and his daughter (KATE BOSWORTH) reluctantly enter the fray, the police find themselves ascending the building to maintain the high ground in a concrete death trap. As floodwaters rise, nothing but firepower and fierceness can survive this FORCE OF NATURE.

DILLINGA'S DREAMING

11 Sep to 4 Oct 2020

Opening celebration 7pm Friday 11 Sept
with special guest
Cr GRAHAM LOHMANN APM

50 shades of my heART

"I am a Gudjala woman from Charters Towers and this exhibition is a 50th Birthday celebration which I would like to celebrate with my community, my family and my friends at the World Theatre.

Over the past 50 years, I have discovered life through paint and canvas. Art has been my salvation and I have committed the last 20 years of my life, putting my thoughts, emotions and Dreaming stories onto canvas. I have had to be realistic about who I am as a person but more importantly as an Artist. It is my wish to share my art with you through my eyes.

(Art) is an extension and an expression of who I am. Each painting has its own story and they will never appear without one. My art is unique and I am so proud of the way each and every one of my pieces has turned out.

50 shades of my heART… is a celebration of my life as an artist. The name came about as I was standing on the banks of the Burdekin River. A gentle breeze was blowing when the words, effortlessly came to mind.

I am honoured to unveil and to celebrate my life with one and all through 50 shades of my heART.”
