World Theatre Charters Towers – last regular cinema screenings ... change to operations

 announcement by Charters Towers Regional Council...

"This weekend will be the last regular cinema screenings at the World Theatre. Rather than a weekly program, Council will instead provide movie screenings during school holidays, fundraising events, or special events. 

The cinema program will move to 16 sessions per week during school holidays, rather than the 24 sessions previously offered. The cinema will also no longer screen new releases given the cost associated with showing those films."

    Very disappointing to see this. A valuable community resource that is under used. Nothing wrong with the drive in but not everyone wants to sit in a car to watch a movie. Not always about the cost when catering for all of a community.
