final FREE 2014 Foyer Recital will be Sunday 14 Sept 2.30pm with "Up & Coming"

Our final FREE 2014 Foyer Recital will be Sunday 14 Sept 2.30pm - and is The World Theatre's 18th Birthday.

We are pleased to announce that "Up & Coming" will be our special guest performers for this very special recital.

About Up & Coming:
Up & Coming formed in August 2010 and is the O’Donoghue family group consisting of Katelyn 17, Liam 14 and Kasey 12.
For the past 4 years, they have travelled and performed in talent quests and shows all over Queensland and in Tamworth NSW. Up & Coming have won the Open Group section at Queensland Champion of Champions in Brisbane twice, won the Junior Overall Award at the 2012 CCMA in Tamworth and their latest accolade was winning the Overall Junior Award at the 2013 Gympie Muster Talent Search.
They have performed in many shows including the 2011 - 2014 Gympie Muster as part of the Queensland Champion of Champions showcase, Jim Haynes Morning Variety show and the Bush Laureate Awards in Tamworth for the past two years. In 2013 the group performed in Tamworth on the Shine Concert presented by Carter & Carter which showcased nine emerging artists from Australia and New Zealand. They were also a part of the Carter & Carter Gospel Choir.

Katelyn is a 2011 and 2014 graduate of the Academy of Country Music in Tamworth and is the current host of the Jim Haynes Morning Variety show in Tamworth. She has travelled to New Zealand to perform at the age of 14 and has appeared on the famous ‘Back to The Tivoli’ variety shows for the past two years at major venues like Twin Towns and Bankstown Sports Club.

Katelyn is now seventeen and in her final year of school. She enjoys dancing and is in her second year as a school based apprentice studying floristry.

Liam is a 2014 graduate of the Academy of Country Music in Tamworth. He plays bass guitar and is also learning lead and rhythm guitar. He enjoys sports and is a very keen fisherman. He began singing at the age of 6. Liam is in grade 10 and is hoping to secure a school based apprenticeship for his senior years.

One of Kasey’s talents is yodelling. She is the 2013 Overall Juvenile Winner at the Charters Towers CMF and the 2013 Juvenile Female Vocal winner at Queensland Champion of Champions in Brisbane. She is in grade seven. Kasey loves animals and dancing. She plays rhythm guitar and is learning the mandolin.

Along with their parents, Glen & Karen, they live on a small property north of Charters Towers in North Queensland and are all home schooled with their mum as home tutor, through the Cairns School of Distance Education. Katelyn, Liam and Kasey are the fourth generation of their family to do home schooling.

Up & Coming hope to see what their future holds to fulfil their musical dreams.
