Shaun Parker presents BLUE LOVE [LIVE on stage]

I was made for loving you baby, you were made for loving me…

Award-winning Australian choreographer Shaun Parker takes to the stage to perform the role of Glenn Flune, alongside the hysterical and dynamic Lucia Mastrantone as Rhonda Flune.

8 SEPT FRI 8PM  BLUE LOVE  [LIVE]

Infused with intense physical theatre, film and dance, Shaun Parker’s Blue Love is a poetic and satirical take on the clichés of pop culture, romance, coupledom and suburbia.

From a fantastic place where television soap meets art-house film, Glenn and Rhonda Flune take the audience on an expedition in search of the perfect relationship.

Blue Love is inspired by famous works of art, theatre, music, and film, all of which deal with the concept of love.

This quirky, character-based work is a multi-media, physical theatre comedy: accessible, challenging and enormously entertaining.

“It’s a tight package of snappy acting… and a fat dose of funny.”
The Daily Telegraph

“Blue Love is so much fun it can’t possibly be good for you.” The Sydney Morning Herald

Critical Reviews

"Shaun Parker’s “dance” hit is so cutting edge it actually wanders off the edge of any single-word definition. It’s a tight package of snappy acting, super-smooth relevant dance, superb singing and a fat dose of funny. Parker calls it “multi media physical theatre”. This reviewer will settle for a single word label after all: “brilliant”. A funny, inspiring, heart-wrenching journey that turns an hour into a long exciting moment. Parker is a genius”.  Daily Telegraph
"This is a performance that splashes the trials and triumphs of true love all over the stage … these are two very accomplished performers. Neave delivers her dialogue with wit and a great sense of timing. The subject matter trawls across Renaissance love songs, beautifully sung by Parker in his superb countertenor voice." The Age
"It is in the telling of their (Glenn and Rhonda’s) story that this production is so unique. It is full of fun and surprises, wit and colour, and most intriguing of all it shows that the difference between the absurd and the poignant can be just a movement away … Blue Love both celebrates and mocks popular culture and with the telling of the ups and downs of love and romance within this context, clichés are inevitable. Rather than attempting to avoid them, Parker has used these to great effect."  Australian Stage Online
"BLUE LOVE is so much fun it can’t possibly be good for you. Shaun Parker and Veronica Neave apply their well-honed dance skills to a movement-based parody of an upwardly mobile young couple who trip over their pretensions and their relationship with hilarious unpredictability."  Sydney Morning Herald
‘It’s dance, it’s film, it’s satire, it’s absurdist – a zephyr of cool cleverness…Shaun Parker is a creative force to be reckoned with.’  The Advertiser
‘An evening of amusement and also overwhelming poetic moments…Everything maintains an absurd, wonderful and amusing swing” Berliner Zeitung
