David Hockney is Britain’s most popular artist and arguably equally popular around the globe. Now entering his 9th decade, he shows absolutely no evidence of slowing down or losing any of his enthusiasm and verve.
This intimate, revealing film focuses on this later work – essentially two major (and hugely successful) shows held in 2012 and 2016 at the Royal Academy of Art in London.
Director Phil Grabsky secured privileged access to the shows and has crafted a film that, while simple in structure, is multi-layered in offering a wonderful exploration of this master of creativity.
