BOOK WEEK is new, hilarious and features a top notch ensemble cast. It premiered at Melbourne International Film Festival and opened the Noosa International Film Festival.

Released in conjunction with Dymocks Children’s Charities - BOOK WEEK is engaging local schools, promoting literacy and the importance of reading.

About BOOK WEEK
A jaded English teacher is forced to re-evaluate his life when his latest book is passed over for one of his students.
 
When it looks like his novel is going to be published, the once famous novelist – Nicholas Cutler - thinks his luck has finally changed.
But what promises to be the best week of his life professionally, spirals into seven days of hell personally.

A pregnant girlfriend, student in trouble with the law, a gravely ill brother in law and the prospects of living a life of unfilled dreams, force Mr Cutler to re-examine just what’s most important in his life.

HEATH DAVIS biog:
Heath Davis is a multi award winning filmmaker, teacher and journalist. Most recently Davis wrote, directed and produced the Australian feature film BROKE starring Steve Le Marquand, Max Cullen, Claire van Der Boom and Brendan Cowell.

BROKE, which was highlighted in The Guardian’s Top 10 Australian films of 2016, was released in conjunction with the NRL and played in over 100 cinemas across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to BROKE, Heath wrote and directed the short films SPOON MAN, BELLA, BEE STING and RABBIT which enjoyed success at numerous film festivals including Tribeca, Telluride, London, Melbourne, Tropfest and Aspen.

Davis has directed and produced health documentaries for ABC and SBS and numerous music videos for artists such as Shannon Noll, Holly Throsby, Guy Sebastian as well as the live concert full length movie THE JEZABELS: LIVE AT THE HORDERN.

As a journalist/copywriter Davis has worked across all forms of media and has had articles published in the Daily Telegraph, Sydney Morning Herald, Penrith Press, Blacktown Gazette, Blue Mountains Gazette, Western Weekender and Universal Magazines.  Davis is also a passionate and experienced teacher in filmmaking, English, drama, creative writing and screen acting.

Davis is directing his next film, LOCUSTS, currently in production in Broken Hill and due for release in 2019.
